April-May Calendar of Events


The Sustainability Project Annual Meeting. Monday, April 14, 5:30-8:30 pm. Join us as we begin our 8th year with a potluck supper followed by the election of officers for 2008 and a presentation by our Antioch intern, Teresa Azahar entitled “The Mentoring System--Engaging and Sustaining an Activist Membership.” Become a member and help guide The Sustainability Project on its mission and vision for a sustainable future. The meeting will be held in the Cleveland Building community room located at Roxbury Plaza, Keene.

Earth Day Saturday, April 19, 10 am-4pm Join TSP on Railroad Square Keene in Celebration of the Earth

Work Day Sunday, April 20, 9 am to 4 pm. Join in the playful work of creating the wheelchair accessible center in Emerson Brook Forest, Gilsum. Come for all or any part of the day. Long pants, sturdy shoes and work gloves are recommended.

Gardening Like the Forest with Dave Jacke Public Talk Friday, April 25, 2008, 7 – 9pm: $7 suggested donation

Gardening Like the Forest Workshop: Fundamentals of Ecological Garden Design Saturday- Sunday, April 26 - 27: $160 - $250 sliding scale + food, camping

Tri Valley Walpole Energy Fair, Saturday, May 3th 9-3 Join The Sustainability Project, Green Energy Options, The Solar Sisters and other local environmental organizations for a day of cooling the planet!

Native American Gardening Stories with Michael Caduto Friday, May 9th 6:00pm at the Gilsum Elementary school Community Center. Come from 5-6pm for an open house event, highlighting the TSP/Access collaborative after school nutrition and gardening program.

Work Day and Bio-blitz in the Emerson Brook Forest Saturday-Sunday, May 17th -18th. Our workday sponsored by Green Energy Options, begins at 9 am on Saturday. Potluck at 5pm followed by a Bio-blitz with Al Stoops. Spend a day (twenty-four hours) learning the natural history of our beloved Emerson Brook Forest.
