June 15, MCGSSI meeting
Monadnock Community Gardening and Seed Saving Initiative (MCGSSI) to improve food security in our community. We meet on the third Tuesday of each month April through October for seasonal discussions and hands on lessons with local presenters at various garden sites. April 20, May 25, June 22, July 20, Aug. 17, Sept. 21, Oct. 19.

June 19, Sustainable Medicine Making w/ Alisa Andrews
10 am - 12 pm Sustainable Medicine Making: Herbal Preparations for Topical Use (Oils and Salves) with Herbalist, Alisa Andrews. Learn to make herb-infused oils and salves for topical use.  We will use freshly-gathered, local, wild plants for an experience in truly sustainable medicine making.  As time permits, we will do some wild plant identification, and discuss other herbal preparations that are often used topically, such as: compresses, poultices, liniments, spritzers, powders and pastes.  Each participant will take home a sample of the oil or salve that we make in class.  Handouts including instructions and recipes will be provided. Suggested donation: $20-$30

June 20, Community Day in the Emerson Brook Forest
Monthly Community Days in the Emerson Brook Forest -- Held on a Saturday or Sunday, April through October, 9 am -2 pm
Join in the playful work of creating wheelchair accessible trails, gardens and shelters in the Emerson Brook Forest. Bring your favorite tool and work gloves. If you aren't able to do the physical aspects of the work, come anyway. Share your music, poetry or visions for a sustainable future! Working in the Emerson Brook Forest is always a social event!

June 26-27, Healthy Foods Breakfast at the Gilsum Rock Swap
8 am-12 pm - Healthy Foods Breakfast at the Rock Swap at the Gilsum Community Center. Enjoy good company and a healthy cuisine; learn about local efforts to encourage a healthy consciousness for earth-friendly produced food within our region.

June 27, Forest Guide Nature Studies Program
The Stewards of the Earth -- Forest Guide Nature Studies Program meets in the Emerson Brook Forest on the last Sunday of each month from 2-4 pm Use thirteen core naturalist practices to reawaken your senses and awareness of self in the natural environment. Jon Young describes these routines, observed in nature-centered cultures worldwide, in his book the Coyote's Guide to Connecting with Nature.
This is a great way to connect with others interested in learning more about the natural world.  Structured for open and ongoing enrollment, the program is free of charge for those who give in return, by scheduling time to greet, guide and share their naturalist knowledge and skills with visitors to the Emerson Brook Forest Center.
